Its interesting trying to blog about myself. I’m not exactly new to blogging—I’ve often been an on-again-off-again blogger about various topics on the web, but when asked to prepare a blog post about myself I suddenly find myself with a bit of “blogger’s-block”.
I suppose the best place to start is with a brief introduction. I joined the Fuzz Productions web team a couple of weeks ago as a Producer. I grew up in a very rural Ohio farm town on the western part of the state, just about halfway between Toledo and Dayton. I attended a tiny school that hosted grades K-12 in a three-wing, single story, school building. In total there were maybe 700 students, and my graduating class—the largest the school had seen was a whopping 63 students.
I am what I would consider an accidental techie, having studied Opera Theater & Vocal Performance originally. I traded a life behind the glow of stage lights to one behind the glow of computer monitors. My first endeavor into the tech world was being asked to put a quick website together for my local drama group in high school. My affinity for computers and tech later inspired me to branch into a career around design and new media.
Since 2004 I’ve been heavily involved in the Open Source movement spending considerable time and effort working in the Drupal community as a Front-end Developer (themer) and UX consultant. I ran my own freelancing/consulting company for a number of years using Drupal to power efforts by businesses and organizations to establish stronger connections with their customers and constituencies.
I join the Fuzz team with a passion for great design, creative business practices and management. I firmly subscribe to using Open Source and creative problem solving to advance business excellence, and strive to apply the same core beliefs to my work with Fuzz.
I hope to have the opportunity and privilege to work closely with many of Fuzz’s intelligent, creative, and exciting clientele.
