The best of the best, that’s what it’s about!

From the pages of Men’s Health to your screen- it’s all about finding the best of the best!
For years, The Bestlist has been one of the most popular recurring features in Men’s Health Magazine. In 2010, Fuzz was approached with the task of taking the feature online with a new microsite.
What started as a fun upgrade to an existing brand quickly turned into a re-imagining of what The Bestlist could be. Rather than a place for visitors to come and see what the editors feel is the best, the concept became a collaborate experiment in building consensus online. Instead of just reading lists written by the editors, visitors are encouraged to make their own lists, rearrange existing lists, and advocate for their favorite items on a list.
To create this interactive destination, many careful considerations were made after extensive planning. An interface was designed to draw visitors into the list creation experience, and tools utilizing jQuery UI were developed to allow for quick and easy authoring, even for beginners. The entire experience was designed to be as easy and intuitive as possible. To solve the problem of how to tally votes, various parliamentary election systems were evaluated for their ability to distill a large pool of candidates down to a single list of winners.
Today, as new UI elements and functionality are designed, tested, and implemented, the Bestlist continues to evolve and improve (much like the lists it is designed to display)!
