Sometimes we build stuff
just because we can.
How it works.
Tapping into Twitter’s massive user base and robust API, SocialRate.me makes it easy to find micro-bloggers worth reading.
Like many of our in-house projects, SocialRate.me is a fun example of what kind of services are possible with publicly available social data. It began as a concept to experiment with social media APIs. The site allows you to log in with your Twitter account and rate fellow Twitterers such as bloggers, celebrities, or even brands on various attributes like creativity, humor, and honesty.
As you rate and are rated, you can earn badges and achievements such as ‘Trend Setter’ or ‘Rising Star’ to recognize your participation level and keep you engaged. The best part is, since everyone is already on Twitter, there’s a whole world of people and ideas to find and rate, and more joining every day. Who knows who might rate you back?
