Making a brand more personal.
Technology can make us all nervous sometimes…
It can be hard to learn new ideas and concepts. It’s even harder when you need to battle with unfamiliar technology to even get started. That’s why, more than ever, there’s been a push to socialize technology. To make new users comfortable, you must present a human element they can connect to.
“Fuzz’s vision and design played an integral part in the successful transformation of Vlingo.com. They helped us more clearly articulate what our brand stands for, and the value we bring to our customers. Simply put: These guys are BOSS.”

We’re about socializing technology
Vlingo’s voice command service gives you hands-free access to the full functionality of your smartphone. The power of Vlingo is flexibility- no matter what you’re doing at the moment, you can still place a call, tweet, or get important information by speaking a few words.
Before we redesigned their homepage, the Vlingo marketing message mainly focused on technical capabilities and software features. While the software is incredible, describing functionality in bullet-points is an abstract way to communicate with new customers. We approached the project with the goal of making the message more accessible and understandable for new customers by adding a human element.
Now it’s more social.
We created recognizable characters to help promote the message.
Our first step was to establish a branding message that creates a more meaningful connection. We created a series of characters representing everyday people who illustrate the functionality of Vlingo through their actions: drafting an email while jogging, looking up a restaurant phone number while driving, placing a call while on a bike. In each illustration, the message is made clear- Vlingo gives you efficient, hands-free access to your phone and lets you carry on with your life.
The new site features the character branding prominently on the homepage, immediately establishing what Vlingo does and who it’s for. The overall experience is far friendlier and more informative as a result.
There's more to see.
